t was arguably the best speech he’s ever delivered; and his America First base should feel very pleased right now. President Trump went after mass migration, global government, the International Criminal Court, the persecution of Christians, Iran, the cartels, and international institutions spending way too much time lecturing America while ignoring much uglier problems everywhere else.

He didn’t go to the UN in order to talk like a globalist. Instead, he brought his America First message with him. And judging by the reaction, his speech landed exactly the way Trump supporters hoped it would:

Trump’s speech covered a lot of ground, but here is a bullet point summary of the highlights:

– Called out the UN for ignoring Christian persecution worldwide while obsessing over America
– Demanded every ICC member resign immediately from that rogue anti-American tribunal
– Called Communist Cuba a failed state that will fall, then watched officials storm out
– Declared there is no human right to illegal immigration, only the right to stay a sovereign nation
– Scorched UNESCO globalists for pushing mass migration that destroys Western cultures
– Said there is NO global government and there will be NO global taxes while he is president

This is a non-exhaustive list. Trump’s points and arguments are legitimate. International institutions should serve nations, not replace them.

That’s why so much of his speech kept coming back to national sovereignty: individual countries should control their borders, and their governments should protect their own citizens. International bodies shouldn’t be allowed to override national interests for the sake of advancing globalism. One of the most poignant moments of his address came when Trump turned directly to the subject of mass migration:
