n January of 2024 I wrote Terrorist Attacks In America: For What Are They Waiting? In that column, I warned of a new reality: the thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of foreign terrorists who were allowed into America by the Biden Administration with little or no vetting. Many were given free money along with bus or jet transportation to locations of their choice.

It’s already been established Mexican drug cartels have arrangements with enemy states. They transport weapons and everything terrorists may need across our border. As I wrote back then: “they’re kind of a cartel/terrorist UPS.”

Flash forward to March, 2026. The US and Israel strike Iran to kill the Ayatollah Khamenei and as many as 40 high-ranking regime officials in the initial round of strikes.  

That’s a very good thing and certainly disheartening to the 7th century Islamic lunatics who have been running Iran for the last fourty-seven years; however, it’s also potentially very dangerous for America and Americans in general all over the world. Why? Because we have no idea how many of those millions of unvetted “migrants” allowed to enter our country by the Biden Administration may actually be terrorists now living among us, just waiting for a “go” signal to activate.

Now that Khamenei and many other high-ranking Iranian officials have been eliminated, the next question is there anyone remaining in Iran now with the authority and ability to activate possible terrorist sleeper cell inside the United States?

In the meantime, President Trump has demanded the total surrender of the Iranian military, suggesting the possibility of some form of “immunity.”

“We are hearing that many of their IRGC, Military, and other Security and Police Forces, no longer want to fight, and are looking for Immunity from us,” Trump wrote on Truth Social where he also announced that Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was dead. “As I said last night, ‘Now they can have Immunity, later they only get Death!’”

A sane enemy might take advantage of such an offer, as I suspect some of the remaining, high-ranking Iranian functionaries will. However, Iran, like every other Arab/Muslim culture in the Middle East is an honor culture which will not take their impending military defeat and subsequent humiliation well. There may very well be remaining Iranian officials completely willing to give the “go” order. Even in the event they don’t, it’s still a possibility individual jihadists already in America could go ahead and activate their cells without any order from Tehran based on a pre-arranged contingency plan.

After all, these are 7th Century barbarians; people who have been indoctrinated their entire lives with the idea America is the Great Satan. People who have been trained and psychologically conditioned their primary life duty is to conquer all infidels in order to establish a world-wide Islamic caliphate. They are the Shia Twelvers who believe there is a 12th Imam who is hidden, laying in wait for men such as themselves to provoke Armageddon, which will prompt the 12th Imam to come forward and rule over the entire world for Islam. These are not Methodists who may agree to visit a local Baptist church. They are fanatic true believers for whom being killed in Jihad holds their highest earthly aspiration.

The next time they strike will not be another 9-11 style attack because such events are likely to be discovered and intercepted before they can be successfully carried out. Instead, it is much more likely small groups of terrorists, armed with automatic weapons and explosives, will attack public gathering places in every part of the country in a coordinated offense. That includes grocery stores, theaters, parks, sporting events, & schools. Anywhere they can kill the largest numbers of innocent people before they’re stopped. And, they’ll keep on killing until they’re killed.

Even lacking a formal “go” order, many of these extremist fanatics will still take it upon themselves to take the path of Jihad out of revenge and religious fervor.

In such a scenario involving a coordinated, nationwide assault it’s foolish to count on Law Enforcement being able to provide enough protection. There simply won’t be enough of them who are able to deploy quickly enough to stop a surprise attack. Even if it takes multiple officers only five minutes to respond that’s still enough time to kill you and people you love.

So, what are we as Americans to do?  Should we stay at home? Cower in fear or completely shut down the country? We won’t do that because we’re Americans and as Americans we understand once we change our lives to conform to any possible dangers, the terrorists have already won. What we can do is prepare ourselves, by staying armed and practicing situational awareness as we go about our daily lives to a degree we’ve never done before. It’s called “putting your head on a swivel” by staying very aware of your surroundings; keeping our eyes open for anything which may stand out as unusual or threatening. Surveying the parking lot prior to exiting your car and entering the store; knowing where all the entrances and exits are and not allowing yourself to become absorbed and distracted by whatever is happening on your phone. It means taking responsibility for your own safety and security in public spaces.

This isn’t unreasonable paranoia, but a honest appraisal of any potential threats. Situational awareness allows one to stay out of trouble by identifying danger signals early enough to simply leave before things become threatening. It also allows those properly trained and so inclined to be ready to effectively fight back to end a possible terrorist attack before it can really begin. That’s being an American, too.

It’s very likely Iran will find itself under new management in the coming days. It’s also likely the Middle East may finally enter into a peace it has never before thought possible. Regardless, the potential terrorist threat in America is now at an elevated level. Be aware, be prepared and stay strong. ✪
