Bad Bunny Ends Spanish-Only Super Bowl Halftime Performance With Political Immigration Message

ppp
he much-awaited Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime show closed with the Puerto Rican rapper delivering a pro-immigration political message written on a football as reaction comes in to blast the “terrible” show in a language most football fans “can’t understand.”
The Latin-themed show featured dozens of dancers performing Latin-styled steps in a tropical flora setting, and featured cameos by singer Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga.
As per his sworn practice, the left-wing, anti-Trump rapper, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, sang only in Spanish. And he ended his set with a political message.
Just ahead of walking off the field at the end of the NFL Halftime Show, the rapper held up a football on which was written the message, “Together we are America.” The message was clearly a political one and dovetails with his months of anti-ICE messages and pro-immigration comments.
For many, Bad Bunny’s big show was not all that impressive. President Trump was a major critic, taking to his Truth Social account to rip the show.
“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.” Trump wrote. “This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Many others were equally unimpressed. Conservative commentator Matt Walsh criticized the show for being in a language most football fans don’t understand. He wrote:
“Having the halftime show for your biggest game of the year in a language almost none of your lifelong fans can understand, while waving the flags of countries that none them are from, is the biggest fuck you that I’ve ever seen a corporation give to its own consumers.”
Sports entrepreneur Clay Travis also ripped the show for not being in English, writing, “Would any other country in the world have their signature cultural event in a foreign language? I legit have no idea what just happened.” Indeed, the choice to do the show mostly in Spanish was a sticking point for many. ✪
Fans Outraged By Performance Of ‘Black National Anthem’ Before Super Bowl LX

lll
uper Bowl LX fans criticized the NFL after singer Coco Jones performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the “Black National Anthem,” before the game.
The song “has been a source of consternation for NFL fans since the league started to use the song during the 2020 season,” Fox News reported. Jones sang the song “as fans began to trickle into Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California” for Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
Fans also took to social media in 2025 for Super Bowl LX after the “Black National Anthem” was also performed, pointing out that “there is only one National Anthem.”
“America has one national anthem!” one user wrote in a post on X. “We’re sick of this woke bs.”
“Why do we even have a ‘Black National Anthem?’” conservative political activist Brilyn Hollyhand wrote in a post on X. “Could you imagine the outrage if there were a ‘White National Anthem’? Why can’t we all just unite behind THE NATIONAL ANTHEM?”

“The United States of America has ONLY ONE National Anthem,” another person wrote. “Kicking off the #SuperBowl, in the year of our great nation’s 250th birthday, with the ‘Black National Anthem’, is a disgrace & racially divisive.” ✪
Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show Wins The Super Bowl

lll
he Turning Point USA All-American Halftime show kicked off Sunday night to millions of fans who streamed the patriotic event online, an alternative to Bad Bunny’s Spanish-only Super Bowl 60 intermission that ended with the Puerto Rican pop star making a politically charged immigration message.
“Welcome to the Turning Point USA All-American Halftime show. And this one’s for you, Charlie,” host Jack Posobiec said, honoring Turning Point USA’s late founder Charlie Kirk, before a rousing electric guitar rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” was played by Brantley Gilbert.
Gilbert got the concert started with a patriotic version of “Real American,” followed by a powerful rendition of Jason Aldean’s “Dirt Road Anthem.”
Gabby Barrett emerged from a near-pitch black space in the stage while the audience erupted in applause, as she opened with her massive hit “I Hope.” The country crooner followed that up with “The Good Ones.”

The YouTube stream was hovering around four and half million live viewers just as Lee Brice’s seven-minute set kicked off. That number jumped to over five million viewers as Brice began belting out lyrics from his mega hit “Drinking Class.”
Before his next song, Brice honored Charlie Kirk, saying “Charlie, he gave people microphones so they could say what was on their mind. This is what’s on mine.” Brice lifted his guitar and sang his new edgy, politically charged track called “Country Nowadays.”
“Country Nowadays” lyrics:
It ain’t easy being country in this country nowadays
The direction the fingers point when everything goes up in flames
Saying I’m some right wing devil ’cause I was red letter Jesus raised
It ain’t easy being country in this country nowadays
Brice ended his set with a hard-charging rendition of his hit “Hard to Love.”

Up next was Kid Rock, who came on to close and he brought the energy to a new height with his classic track “Bawitdaba,” before switching the mode to mellow as he covered Cody Johnson’s #1 smash hit “Til You Can’t.” Rock added his own verse to the song, in which he evangelized about reading the Bible and serving Jesus Christ.
“There’s a book sitting in your house somewhere that could use some dusting off / There’s a man who died for all our sins hanging from the cross / You can give your life to Jesus and he’ll give you a second chance / Till you can’t,” Kid Rock sang.
The Kirk tribute played on the screen showing viewers a montage of photos of Kirk and his widow, Erika Kirk and their children. ✪
DHS Confirms ICE Conducted Enforcement Operations At Super Bowl LX

ppp
he Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted enforcement operations at the Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California.
DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told TMZ Sports their mission “remains unchanged” despite unrest in Minnesota.
Per Fox News, DHS adviser Corey Lewandowski said in October that ICE enforcement is a “directive from the President” and will not be stopped for the Super Bowl, which was between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium.
“There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,” Lewandowski said during an interview on “The Benny Show” podcast. “Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find and deport you. That is a very real situation.”
McLaughlin said security at the event “entailed a whole-of-government response conducted in line with the U.S. Constitution.”
“Those who are here legally and are not breaking other laws have nothing to fear,” she added.
The confirmation comes after President Donald Trump said he was boycotting the Super Bowl. The 45th and 47th president roasted the event’s halftime show choices of Bad Bunny and Green Day, saying, “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.“
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in October that the halftime show choices were “carefully thought through.”
“I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism. It’s pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching,” he said. ✪
