VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: EUROPE IN THE BALANCE?

ppp

lmost weekly in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, a sensational assault committed by an illegal migrant; often enjoying some sort of state support or with prior arrests for the same crime—surfaces.

Until recently, European politicians and the media sought to either ignore such news or accuse those who clamored for tighter borders, more police protection, and stiffer penalties of being “racists” or “xenophobes.” Until recently, that is.

Mass protests are now common in Britain against the Labour Party’s open borders policies and generous welfare entitlements for immigrants who arrive illegally and without authentic “political refugee” status.

Greek officials, also swamped by illegal immigration, now cite President Trump’s secure border policies as new models for their own.

The majority of European immigrants now come from majority-Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Yet many arrivals seem angrier at their newfound liberal hosts than at the dictatorships they fled back home.

Europe’s immigration policies will not work in a multiethnic democracy. Too many immigrants are arriving too quickly, without sufficient diversity, language fluency, skills, or familiarity with the customs and culture of their host nations. They often enter with separatist religious and cultural values antithetical to the very place they seek refuge.

Yet, there is no European plan of civic education to assimilate immigrants and teach them the rules, laws, and culture of their hosts.

It is then no surprise that what follows is ghettoization, resentment, and loud attacks on the very nation in which they seek sanctuary, denouncing it as decadent and godless.

In the past, Europe’s anemic military budgets, reliance on borrowed money, socialism, and a once-strong economy papered over these existential challenges of illegal immigration.

Or, as left-wing former Chancellor Angela Merkel once inanely said of massive illegal influxes into Germany and Europe, “Wir schaffen das” (“We can do this”). But, of course, Merkel could not. She offered zero plans on how to integrate, assimilate, and acculturate millions of Europe’s illegal aliens. Now, some 15 percent of Germany’s population are foreign nationals.

Unfortunately, the statist economies of high-cost Europe are stagnating. Massive welfare outlays, coupled with a shrinking and aging native population; with a birth rate sinking below 1.4, are finally slowing economic growth.

Current German Chancellor Friedrich Merz put the dilemma bluntly: “The welfare state as we have it today can no longer be financed with what we can economically afford.”

Yet the more socialism ossifies, the more popular culture still demands free benefits that a shrinking number of taxpayers can no longer provide.

The United States is finally taking the opposite approach of cracking down on illegal immigration, deregulating the economy, and unleashing high technology to fast-track new frontiers of artificial intelligence, robotics, cryptocurrency, and genetic engineering.

Often, Europe’s best and brightest—and frustrated—are migrating to greater opportunities and freedom in the U.S., further hampering European research and development.

Europe foolishly adopted a self-defeating energy policy to achieve net-zero emissions by subsidizing inefficient wind and solar power while ignoring or shutting down far cheaper natural gas, nuclear, and coal-powered electrical generation.

Meanwhile, China, grinning like a Cheshire cat and caring little about its carbon footprint, is eagerly exporting wind and solar systems to the suicidal West. Yet China itself is busy building about two massive coal-fired plants a month, and the largest and most environmentally disruptive hydroelectric projects in the world.

No wonder average European electricity costs are even steeper than those in failing California. European consumers often cannot afford to turn their heaters and air conditioners on, while businesses cannot compete with industries abroad that enjoy far cheaper power.

Donald Trump has declared that the 80-year postwar order is calcified and that the US will no longer run huge trading deficits with European Union nations. Instead, it will demand symmetrical tariffs, further challenging past European mercantile profitability.

The days of Europe disarming and relying on the United States for defense are also over, given that Vladimir Putin, for the third time in 15 years, invaded a neighboring country. Yet Ukraine is not Chechnya or Georgia, but instead on the doorstep of Europe.

So in panic, a perennially delinquent NATO is not only promising to spend the required 2 percent of GDP on defense but also increasing arms budgets to 5 percent of GDP, a higher rate even than that of the US. No one knows how Europeans will afford such massive rearmament.

To do so would require opening up their economies, adopting far more flexible and traditional energy policies, securing their borders, ending illegal immigration, pruning the welfare state, increasing their fertility rates, and dropping the DEI salad bowl while re-embracing the melting pot of integration and acculturation.

We will soon see whether Europeans can adopt such needed reforms, or find the necessary medicine worse than their current crippling continental disease. ✪

JB SHURK: HOW HUMAN PURPOSE THREATENS GOVERNMENT CONTROL

lll

here is nothing more tragic than a life devoid of purpose. Without meaning, souls wither away. Anybody who has interacted with drug addicts whose only “purpose” is to secure another “fix” knows this to be true. The human part of those so afflicted steadily disappears as the body is overtaken by a desperate need to remain in a sedated state of oblivion.

Almost every city in America now has a “no-go” zone of hardcore homeless addicts who shuffle along the streets like zombies from a horror movie. The sight is surreal and a shocking reminder that even the most powerful country in the world regularly fails to beat back the advances of Hell.

As a society, we used to at least pretend to care about the drug epidemic in America. We declared “war on drugs,” but drugs won. The Reagan Administration produced some effective public health campaigns, but the drug cartels south of the border became only more powerful over time.

As Democrats and some libertarians pushed for the legalization of serious narcotics this century, state governments and federal agencies not only stopped enforcing drug laws, but also accepted that sizable populations across America would be permitted to suicide while the rest of us disinterestedly watched. From urban streets to abandoned houses in forgotten rural towns, drug-addled zombies pursue one “purpose:” to die.

Some might say “to each his own” or “it’s none of my business.”  Adulthood, after all, is about taking responsibility for your own actions. And it is almost impossible to talk someone out of destroying himself. With every breath we take, glass of water we drink, and bowl of food we eat, staying alive is a choice. Those who reach for the needle, it is often said, are making a “choice,” too.

Still, if Americans understood how many of the zombie homeless are veterans, formerly stable people whose lives spiraled out of control, or neglected citizens who have lived on and off the streets since childhood, maybe more people would offer a helping hand. Sometimes we invite Hell into our lives, and sometimes Hell swallows us whole. Blessed are those with the strength to drag lost souls back home.

Why do Democrat mayors in cities such as San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Baltimore carve out entire neighborhoods for homeless zombies to prowl? It’s not some “libertarian” embrace of the supposed “freedom” to do drugs. It’s certainly not some “compassionate” policy meant to “accept” people as they are. Within one hour of walking the streets of zombieland, no rational person could conclude that these dens of squalor, violence, indignity, and wretchedness are anything other than the outstretched tentacles of Hell.

I think Democrats protect these hellish spaces because they serve an evil purpose: As zombielands grow, they swallow up more and more of society. The bigger they become, the more attractive they are for damaged souls and malcontents chasing death. Like abortion on demand up to (and sometimes after) a baby’s birth, municipally sanctioned drug lairs exist to churn out dead bodies. They operate as both depopulation machines and as blaring foghorns spewing out hopelessness in all directions.

Something that conservatives generally understand and that leftists do not is that “government” and “society” are two different things. Government is a blunt instrument that claims to act on behalf of society but really acts according to its own institutional interests. Society is a much broader concept that includes all of the cultural, religious, intellectual, and personal relationships that bind a people together. Should the federal government ever fall, American society might persevere and rebuild. Should our society collapse, no government can glue the pieces back together. Government is coercion; society is choice. Strong societies create strong countries; strong governments often destroy countries.

When Democrat politicians defend the propagation of zombielands across America, they advance the government’s interests, not society’s. How could deadly drug zones possibly advance government interests? That question brings us back to an essential ingredient of every human soul: purpose.

As far as governments are concerned, people lacking purpose are either useful or dangerous. How are they useful? Militaries, law enforcement agencies, and vast bureaucracies are built with people seeking purpose. It is comforting to believe that government institutions are innately patriotic.  In reality, governments use patriotism to achieve institutional objectives. They say, “Do this for your country.” What they really mean is, “Do this for your government.”  Governments feed on people who need purpose. They provide purpose in exchange for obedience.

This kind of arrangement exists whether the government in question rules Baltimore’s streets or a superpower nation. Gang life flourishes because boys who are desperate to find purpose in life are offered a gun and a street corner to defend. Since the putative conclusion of WWII, war has continually raged somewhere on the African continent. While the rest of the world does what it can to ignore the carnage, one generation of child soldiers after the next finds purpose with a rifle. All that “purpose” ensures short, violent lives.

When people without purpose cannot be corralled into government service, they are potentially dangerous. Such people might just find that their purpose is to oppose the government. Government bureaucracies’ most important function is to coerce people into submission. When possible, this coercion is done quietly, if not invisibly.  Police forces keep order. Credit scores encourage timely payment.  Banks require the use of government money. Public pensions ensure that government workers and retirees obey.  Public shaming and the rise of “cancel culture” are effective government tools for controlling citizens.

When government coercion fails to control citizens, society begins to realize that its interests are not identical to the government’s. Consider the mass resistance movements now forming throughout the United Kingdom. After decades of flooding the country with illegal aliens who have gone on to commit heinous crimes and undermine social unity in the U.K., government authorities are now contending with the reality that the British people have found a purpose that threatens government supremacy. The government’s failure to protect society has given society a pressing reason to seize control of the country from the government. No matter how many new censorship laws parliament passes to silence citizens, the British government will not be able to suppress the public’s newfound purpose to defend itself.

Now consider this: The people who are right now building an artificial intelligence structure to manage the world believe that A.I. will replace all human workers. Elon Musk told a technology conference just last year that there will soon “come a point where no job is needed.” He predicts that everyone will be living on government-provided income.

Musk paints this future as a rosy one but recognizes that “the question will be one of meaning. Does your life have meaning?”  Whether he is being honest about his optimism or not, he at least understands that the question of human purpose will come to the forefront in the next few years.

Governments around the world are obviously much less optimistic. Growing censorship in the West, mass digital surveillance, plans for “vaccine passports,” and the rollout of central bank digital currencies all suggest that governments ostensibly supportive of “human liberty” are actually constructing totalitarian systems of control. They are investing heavily in an infrastructure meant to ensure that society’s purpose strictly mirrors the government’s objectives.

Freethinkers who refuse to comply should take a hard look at the zombielands across the United States. Governments don’t care if purposeless people kill themselves. They will do everything they can, however, to make sure that people don’t find purpose in opposing government policy.

For those agnostics who have yet to see that the coming battle is ultimately a spiritual one, think again. We are in a war between good & evil, so be very careful where you stand. ✪

DON SURBER: TRY EMPATHY, DEMOCRATS

BC reported, “An 8-year-old and 10-year-old sitting in pews were killed when a shooter fired shots through the windows of a church at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning.17 others were injured in the shooting during a Mass that marked the first week of school, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said.”

Police identified the gunman, who killed himself afterward, as Robin Westman, 23. She is a he originally named Robert.

▶️ 7 Minutes 21 Seconds

Collin Rugg tweeted, “The alleged shooter released multiple videos on social media, which showed that he clearly hated Christians. They have since been taken down.”

President Trump ordered flags to be posted at half-staff through Sunday. Governor Walz lowered the U.S. and his state flags as well. Members of the opposing presidential tickets last year agreeing to mourn should have been all the politics involved in the matter. But, nope.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey went off the rails. He held a press conference to confirm that he is as crazy as any other Democrat in the city as he seeks re-election.

▶️ 1 Minute 1Second

The mayor proved his allegiance to LGBT uber alles, saying, “Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community has lost their sense of common humanity.”

As for the Catholic community that has existed for 2,000 years, he bowed to atheism, saying, “Don’t just say ‘thoughts and prayers.’ These kids were literally praying.” Anti-Catholicism was a trait of Josef Stalin because he wanted people to worship him, not God.

▶️ 21 Seconds

Libs of TikTok reminded everyone:

“The Democrat Minneapolis Mayor who kneeled, wept, and prayed by George Floyd’s coffin is now telling us not to pray for Christian children who were gunned down at their church.”

Of course, he was pushing defunding police back then. Now he pushes to ban guns.

MS NOW relic Jen Psaki tweeted:

“Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayer does not end school shootings. Prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.”

Salena Zito replied, “Prayer does more than you’ll ever understand Jen and your divisive post helps no one.”

Poet Joseph Massey replied:

“Prayer is part of a chain of action. We pray to fill our minds and hearts with God so we can, with free will, cooperate with His will. Cackling demons mocking prayer don’t know what they’re cackling about. Liars. They do the bidding of their master, the greatest liar of all.”

Of course Psaki contradicted her reaction to a Democrat’s attempted assassination of Republican Congressman Steve Scalise. But now, according to her, God is not enough: we need government. How’s that worship of Big Government working out for Psaki now that President Trump is back in charge of it?

Mocking prayer for the victims and their families is considered acceptable for Democrats. Today’s Democrats would have stood up for Jeff Dahmer. They would have back in the day except his victims were homosexuals.

The exploitation of this tragedy is Rahm Emanuelism, for he once said, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”

Modern Democrats have gone back to their ugly dirty roots by politicizing children killed at school or church for more gun control.

Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota said:

▶️ 45 Seconds

“All the work we’ve done to ban these automatic rifles, and do something when it comes to background checks and everything. We keep getting THWARTED. We were able to pass a limited measure but not enough to stop something like this. It makes you think about that.”

The church is a gun-free zone.

In one afternoon, Democrats flipped from arguing that there is no emergency of crime in DC to warrant the National Guard patrolling Wards 7 and 8 to demanding the government control everybody’s guns because one gunman in Minneapolis shot up a church. I am not arguing with them because the Democrats who are seizing this moment have no heart.

Of course, Gavin Newsom chimed in from California:

We cannot even make it through the first week of school without mass shootings. And the GOP will continue to do absolutely nothing while our kids are being gunned down. This is sick.

The only sickness I detect is presidential fever.

Out of this tragedy comes a little hope offered by this kid who said, “My friend, he was lying on top of me, like, making sure I was safe, and he got hit.”

top grooming future trans killers. After Robert ‘Robin’ Westman shot up a Minneapolis church, local authorities and law enforcement refused to discuss the transgender child murderer’s motive, but instead spent a lot of time prattling about the weapon as if the rifle had climbed off the shelf and then opened fire.

Much as with Audrey ‘Aiden’ Hale, the transgender child murderer who attacked the Covenant School in Nashville a few years ago, killing three children and three staff members, there is an active coverup of what would make a young man or woman want to murder children in a religious setting. Audrey Hale left behind a manifesto that the authorities tried to suppress. Robert Westman filled social media with deranged rants, filmed a video manifesto and decorated his gun with calls to kill Trump and Jews, and hate toward Christians.

After every mass shooting, the media turns into impromptu gun experts, enthusiastically discussing calibers and manufacturers, to avoid talking about the motive. Probably knowing that, the killer wrote his motives on his gun and media outlets still refuse to discuss it.

The children murdered at Covenant and the Annunciation Catholic Church are secondary victims of the transgender culture wars. The primary victims were two unstable children who had been routed into the ‘therapy’ system, heavily drugged with mind-altering substances, convinced that they were members of the opposite sex and led to believe that the only thing standing in the way of their happiness were those who refused to accept that they were the opposite sex.

Some years back, Maya ‘Alex’ McKinney, who was 16 at the time and was being ‘transitioned’ from the time she was 11, opened fire at a Colorado school. Like Hale, who had been in various forms of therapy since she was 6 years old, the experiment finally ended in blood and horror.

While most countries are pulling back from the medieval experimentation on children championed by the transgender movement and radical doctors who had taken to claiming that they can identify and begin ‘transitioning’ children as young as two years old, America’s medical and cultural elites have continued the deadly practice while claiming that it helps those children. Not only doesn’t it help, but it kills.

Robert, Audrey and Maya are just a few of the transgender mass shooters over the past 6 years as a population of mentally unstable people preyed upon by identity politics turn violent. They’re only the tip of the iceberg with the emergence of the violent transgender Zizian cult responsible for at least six murders including the killing of a Border Patrol officer at the Canadian border.

We don’t need ‘gun control.’ We do need to stop drugging and grooming children, often already troubled, to join the newest slot in the alphabet movement. The tragic loss of children, often teenage girls, was the result of corrupt culture war politics and the activist teachers, librarians and bored leftist parents who sacrificed their own children on the altar of the movement to fill the time between the BLM riots and the Hamas riots have blood on their hands for those lost lives.

We don’t have ‘gun violence.’ No more than Muslim terrorist attacks like 9/11 or the New Orleans Car Jihad were ‘plane violence’ or ‘car violence.’ The three causes of mass shootings are mental illness, urban crime and domestic terrorism. Democrats are responsible for causing, worsening and enabling all three by warping kids, promoting criminals and importing terrorists. There is no ‘gun violence’ problem, there is ‘gun violence’ as a consequence of leftist policies.

Democrats and the media knowingly blew up Columbine, the first major school shooting, into a nationwide story transforming the two killers into celebrities whose names and crimes continue to be referenced by nearly every school shooter, including Robert Westman and Audrey Hale, in order to achieve their policy goal of gun control. 26 years later, school shootings are a big phenomenon and each time the media blows up each case while knowing that teenage murder suicide is a documented copycat phenomenon that will only lead to more school shootings.

Generations of medicated teenage school shooters since have been copying each other in the hopes of getting their 15 minutes in the media as the poster boys and girls for gun control.

Not satisfied with what they had done, Democrats contrived to find new ways to make things worse. The Obama Administration dismantled school discipline policies because they were said to be ‘systemically racist’ leading to the Parkland massacre whose survivors were then enlisted to campaign for gun control when they should have been campaigning for schools to deal with dangerous students before they snap. Pushing transgender transitions on children through schools and libraries took already unstable teens, filled them with hormones meant to rewire their brains and then prepped them for fighting culture wars in high schools across America. That led to more school shootings like McKinney in Colorado and Dylan Butler in Iowa.

After the church shooting in Minneapolis, Mayor Jacob Frey denounced any mention of Robert Westman’s transgender mental health problems claiming that there’s a “whole lot of hate that’s being directed at our trans community” and urged the county to rally behind them.

“Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community or any other community out there has lost their sense of common humanity. Kids died. This needs to be about them,” Frey told CNN. What he really meant was that gun owners needed to be villainized, not the community of mentally ill men who are under the delusion that they are women.

Adults are entitled to believe whatever they like, those who need to be hated however are the grown-ups who decided to take kids and exploit their emotional difficulties for their own political gain. No outrage is too great when aimed at the educational and medical professionals who ruined countless lives to provide more damaged foot soldiers for a radical culture war. Many believed and still believe that they were doing the right thing. They’re wrong.

And the only way we have any hope of changing that is by having this conversation. Democrats have spent a quarter of a century enabling school shootings while shouting about gun control. We don’t need ‘gun control.’ A gun in the hands of a sane, decent and moral American is no more of a threat than a car, a knife or any potentially lethal tool or piece of machinery. And anything, including a car or a can of gasoline, is a deadly weapon in the hands of a bad person.

If we want to stop mass shootings, then what we really need is criminal control, Muslim terrorist control and trans control. Get those three taken care of and most gun violence, except for rare crimes of passion, will disappear. We don’t need to control the number of rounds in a weapon, we need to control the kinds of drugs being dispensed to kids under the guise of treating them.

We need trans control. The culture war of castrating kids, cutting off their body parts, hitting them with dangerous and untested medications in the name of getting them to ‘accept’ a delusion inflicted on them by that same culture war is insane, horrifying and evil.

It’s an evil that must be driven out of every school and medical facility by a combination of parental activism, individual conscience and government intervention. There must be no room for the continuation of these barbaric medical experiments on troubled children. The occasional school shooting is the tip of a bloody iceberg. May the murdered children in Minneapolis be among the last victims of the transgender culture wars and the start of Trans Control Now. ✪

▶️ THE GATES OF HELL

THE GATES OF HELL

ggg

here are certain individuals in our generation who wish to remake the world order built up over 80 years since World War II. I attended Harvard a decade after Bill Gates studied there and then left to set up Microsoft. One advantage of religion is that a religious person generally sees himself as small and imperfect, with an omnipotent God over him and running the world. Such a view is completely independent of how smart and/or accomplished the person may be.

There are those who are not religious but who believe that they display such brains and insights that they should be the ones running the show. Bill Gates is one such person.

Bill Gates and Apple were known as cutthroat competitors. Numerous companies found their unique software bundled into Windows after having a friendly chat with representatives of Microsoft. Apple almost went out of business due to the recreation of its unique Macintosh features in Windows. Gates invested $150 million to keep Apple afloat. During their 1998 antitrust trial, Microsoft officials were described as saying that they would “take away the oxygen supply” of smaller companies.

Gates was the cofounder of Microsoft and it is hard to believe that his company would behave in a manner that contravened his own approach to life. His divorce from his wife showed him as allegedly promiscuous with staff and a close associate of Jeffrey Epstein.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation worked with USAID, an office so toxic that Donald Trump and DOGE shut it down. Bill Gates has assumed that his brains and wealth allow him to change the world in which we live. He invested heavily via his foundation in healthcare—vaccines—where he described his returns as 20:1 ($10 billion to $200 billion).

He funds the WHO and his foundation funded “Event 201” which simulated a Covid pandemic—in October of 2019, around the time of virus release in China. He is the largest owner of farmland in the U.S. and it is not to grow cattle. He wishes to get rid of cows on the flimsy claim that their flatulence and burping are a direct threat to the future well-being of mankind. He wishes to replace beef-based proteins with cricket-based alternatives. He is associated with plans for cloud engineering to reduce solar impact on Earth.

Bill Gates is not alone in leveraging his very large wealth and intelligence into a societal control position. George Soros is a fellow traveler, as he has used his Open Society to modify societies on multiple continents. When the DA in Chicago or LA lets a dangerous criminal back on the street or reduces his crime from a felony to a misdemeanor, just know that the official in question had his or her campaign funded by one of Soros’ organizations. The key features of Gates, Soros, and the WEF crowd include:

*Changing people’s lives without their permission.

*Engineering a society that works against you but for them.

*Pushing science into directions that are potentially dangerous to mankind.

Soros’ DA’s letting criminals out or reducing their sentences puts you at risk. It doesn’t put Soros at risk as he lives a gilded life away from the masses and with protection that would embarrass most heads of state. When people see contrails over their heads and weird rain, many question what the billionaire backers are up to as nobody asked their permission or provided the regular folk with safety details.

The mRNA vaccines initially touted by Gates and others have caused heart damage in many young men and are associated with the death of thousands of people who went to get the jab at the encouragement of public officials. There are many studies on the benefits of beef protein, so the push to plant-based alternatives is not based necessarily on good science but rather on the goal of control: we will tell you what to eat, we will inject you with chemicals even against your will, and we will determine the kinds of lives that you can live.

I like those billionaires who use their wealth to help others and don’t stick their heads into politics. They show grace and an appreciation that they have been blessed with mountains of money. The WEF crowd feels a messianic impulse to change our lives while they continue to use their private jets and yachts. The problem with busybody billionaires is that We the People generally have no say over their interfering with our lives.

Those who go to the supermarket might see a sticker with Apeel written on it. This is some organic material developed by a Gates-funded company that is supposed to extend fruit shelf-life and reduce waste. Do we know the health performance data for this material? Are there any risks in ingesting it that have not been told to the public?

Gates is a big believer in mRNA vaccines and proposes how to get them ready for the next pandemic to come down the pike. As pointed out by the new head of the NIH, the mRNA vaccines went to unknown places in the body, produced unknown amounts of spike protein, and it remains unknown if all versions of the protein were whole or defective. mRNA therapies are not ready for primetime.

Bill Gates is the poster-child for very bright and wealthy people who feel that they can control the direction of society. His ex-wife has said that his frequent association with pedophile Epstein is one of the reasons for their divorce. When a person believes that he can do as he pleases and has the resources to live out his dreams, then he can become a monster ready to destroy traditional life cultivated over hundreds of years.

Gates has no official position outside of his foundation and Microsoft, and nobody has asked him to change our skies, push us towards synthetic proteins, or get rid of our cows. He is an unelected maverick who believes that his wealth and smarts allow him to do whatever he so pleases—without the permission of the affected.

If there is any illegality in Gates’ actions, then he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. President Trump recently demanded the arrest and prosecution of George Soros and his son for their support for violent protests in the U.S. Gates and Soros are probably the two largest nongovernmental players of the world today. They need to be stopped and held responsible for any destruction they have wrought.

In Europe, several countries are actively proposing culling their herds, reducing their farmland acreage, and giving up critical nitrogen fertilizers. Gates has proposed more family planning for the only region in the world where the population is actually growing: Africa. Many people have bought into Malthus or the more recent Paul Ehrlich, both of whom were completely wrong on all of their failed predictions. The world is reaching a population maximum. And while some countries like Japan are already experiencing large population decreases, the world as a whole will experience population loss in the near future.

I have not found support for Gates pushing depopulation but he definitely wishes to slow what he claims is population growth—though the world is already on its way to going under 2.1 children per woman needed to keep the population steady.

Like a great surfer knowing when to time his move, Bill Gates and Paul Allen got into the computer software business just as computers were becoming ubiquitous. I do not begrudge him his wealth; he should enjoy it. I do believe that he has no right to take actions that can significantly affect the life and well-being of others without their express permission. We don’t want his social engineering because one God is enough for us. ✪

RAINY DAYS AHEAD FOR CANADA

lll

n being elected as prime minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau famously announced his intention to bring “sunny ways” to Canada; and in his Open Letter to Canadians, pledged “to serve all Canadians,” to build “a strong and growing middle class,” and “to invest in growing our economy.” Sunny ways, indeed.

He plucked his lying shtick from a speech by Liberal leader Wilfrid Laurier, who governed Canada between 1886 and 1911. As O.D. Skelton observes in Life and Letters of Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Laurier had proposed that a diplomatic “sunny way” would work better than forcing a policy solution via threat and bullying; using as an illustration Aesop’s fable in which the sun and the wind hold a wager to see who can remove a traveler’s coat. The sun’s warm rays prove more effective than the wind’s bluster. Laurier first used this metaphor in a speech he delivered in Morrisburg, Ontario, on October 8, 1895. “If it were in my power,” he said, referring to the French-English school crisis in Manitoba, “I would try the sunny way…the sunny way of patriotism.”

Trudeau’s replacement Mark Carney has no time for heliotropic metaphors. A sunny fellow he is not, and he is probably among the most hypoglycemic personalities ever to occupy the chair of state. Herb Pinder writes in the Western Standard, “The new Prime Minister has revived a sense of adult gravitas after the frivolity of his predecessor.” But this is a chestnut that may as well remain in the fire, for Carney’s regime leaves us almost nostalgic for the lamentable Justin.

▶️ 32 Minutes 14 Seconds

What can we say about the policies & commitments of this globalist prime minister?

  • He has conceded aboriginal rights over the construction of pipelines—to tribes that have gone years without filing audits. Little will get done.
  • He remains committed to Bill C-69, the “No More Pipelines Act,” which even the usually complicit Supreme Court said overstepped the federal government’s constitutional authority.
  • He is forcing EVs on a low-population, geographically vast country subject to six months of brutal cold, which EVs are incapable of handling. An inadequate infrastructure and the flammability of lithium-ion batteries render these vehicles unsustainable, as potential buyers generally agree.
  • He has failed to present a budget for this fiscal year.
  • Carney has retained the hated carbon tax by hiding it in the industrial sector.
  • He intends to recognize Gaza as a Palestinian state.
  • He is sending billions of borrowed dollars to Ukraine.
  • His often-stated intention to build a prosperous, united Canada demonstrates that he appears to have no idea that Confederation is made up of thirteen bits and pieces—ten provinces and three Territories—that have been somewhat discordantly Katzenjammered together over the years. Moreover, its two founding “races” (as they were called) have always split the country from its very inception—and Carney’s French is downright embarrassing. Given its akimbo formation, a unified Canada was never in the cards without a thorough reconsideration and a sea-change of attitude.
  • He has seriously botched tariff negotiations with the U.S., putting Canada in a worse position than it was in before he entered the game. His elbows-up game is now knees-down.
  • He says he plans to belatedly and moderately reduce immigration levels, though, as Brian Lilly writes at Yahoo News, “the Carney Liberals have been hiding immigration data from Canadians for months,” and their bona fides is suspect. Liberals have plainly broken the immigration system. The National Citizens Coalition “pointed to a backlog of 291,000 asylum claims, many flagged as fraudulent, with thousands of claimants put up in hotels at taxpayer expense.” Renaud Camus in You Will Not Replace Us may be right. The UN, the World Economic Forum, and the globalist Left want heritage citizens replaced by third Worlders in order to eliminate Western culture and create a “Davocracy” in its place. It is a campaign against the present demographic. In any case, the cost of rampant immigration on lost housing for young families, on joblessness and on the economy at large is critical.

In light of the above, several planks from then opposition leader Robert Borden’s Halifax Platform of August 20,1907 would be a counter-thesis to Carney’s governing practice and sensibility and eminently applicable in Canada today, though I doubt if Mark Carney knows the first thing about the man who was to become one of our most important heads of state. Additionally, Carney is surely unaware of the Platform, though it is his job to know the salient aspects of Canada’s political history.

The general purport of the Platform, with its emphasis on improving public life, focusing on both the honesty and transparency of government, and restoring prosperity to the nation makes it a perennial document, with its emphasis on Advancement by Merit (Plank 2), Honest Elections (Plank 3), Civil Service Reform (Plank 4), and National Ports (Plank 9). But two elements in particular are absolutely crucial, Provincial Rights (Plank 16)and Immigration (Plank 6), both having to do with finding a sunny way for Confederation and improving the social and economic outlook for the country.

When it comes to provincial rights, Plank 16, in particular with regard to Alberta, Canada’s problems are massive. Ottawa has been diligently invested in stalling vital commercial and industrial projects in the energy sector in order to presumably repristinate the environment while reducing ordinary people to hard times and low aspirations. Given the tension between an environmental autocracy centered in Ottawa and a political and economically exploited provincial West, as has been the case since the fledgling days of Confederation, the future looks increasingly dim. Absent a serious and effective reorienting of Confederation, a fractured Canada is eventually probable.

Plank 6 specifies a “more careful selection of the sources from which immigration will be sought, a more rigid inspection of immigrants.” Conservatives at the time were grumbling about Canada being “the dumping ground for the refuse of every country in the world,” and Henri Bourassa, a major ideological founder of Quebecois nationalism and publisher of the Francophone newspaper of record Le Devoir, demanded that Canada should not become “a land of refuge for the scum of all nations.” The language is not nice, but the critics may have had a point. Obviously, the number of foreign freeloaders in Canada today is frankly unsustainable, with their strain on housing, public infrastructure, social services, health care, employment and education. Taxes go up, revenues down.

Borden’s doctrine clearly does not define Canadian political life. It exists as an ideal. According to Michael Bliss’ Right Honourable Men, it was put into practice to a decent extent by Mackenzie King’s administration and would need to be restored, however tentatively, if Canada were to enjoy any prospect of occasional sunny ways.

In the last analysis, any government that intends to do its job properly would recognize that Canadians have more than marked regional differences. The difference between regions can be radical and deep, not merely a matter of context, heritage and character. Political and economic issues between West and East were divisive from the start, increasing as energy and agronomics grew in importance while cooperation, consensus and conciliation—Borden’s virtues—were neglected and abandoned by the powers that be and their successors in the current imbroglio.

One could wish that Borden’s Platform could be brought back today and, perhaps, if not sunny ways, at least intermittent sun-and-cloud might return to offer the nation better weather. But Carney’s rainy days now threaten to become what is called an “atmospheric river” from which the nation may not likely survive as a coherent entity. In any event, the implicit message to Canadians is clear. Forget about sunny ways. Pack your waterproof gear for the coming rainstorm. And don’t waste your breath complaining. After all, you elected the man.✪

THEY’RE POISONING US & THEY KNOW IT

lll

ou don’t have to look far to realize something is deeply wrong in America. Our shelves are lined with food and products that 30 other countries have outright banned. Our children are overweight, medicated, emotionally dysregulated, and chronically ill. Our cancer rates are astronomical. And our government agencies—tasked with protecting public health—are all in on it.

Let’s stop pretending this is accidental because it’s not. America’s food supply isn’t broken by acciden; it’s engineered for profit, with banned chemicals, sugar addiction, and corporate capture keeping us sick, weak, and controlled.

The FDA, USDA, CDC, EPA, and NIH have all played a role in turning the American food supply into a toxic wasteland. These aren’t safety watchdogs—they’re corporate lapdogs, rubber-stamping one chemical after another while the American people get sicker, weaker, and more dependent on the very pharmaceutical giants that bankroll these agencies through “user fees” and nonstop lobbying.

Our food is laced with banned dyes, preservatives, pesticides, and synthetic additives. Substances like Red 40 and potassium bromate are outlawed across Europe, Japan, and much of the developed world. Yet they’re still fed to our kids with the blessing of U.S. regulators. The exact same product sold in an American grocery store is reformulated for sale overseas. Because they know it’s poison, they just don’t care if it poisons us.

Refined sugar didn’t just creep into our diets—it was strategically inserted. The Industrial Revolution made sugar cheap. However, it was the sugar industry’s icollusion with Harvard scientists in the 1960s that buried its lethal health effects. They paid for favorable research and pinned heart disease on fat instead. The result? A wave of “low-fat” processed foods packed with sugar and high-fructose corn syrup that launched a decades-long epidemic of obesity, diabetes, cancer, and neurological disease.

Sugar is now in almost everything; from salad dressing to spaghetti sauce—because it’s addictive. And addiction is profitable.

Now they’re coating organic fruits and vegetables with a product called Apeel, funded by none other than Bill Gates. Marketed as “plant-based,” it’s actually a synthetic wax barrier made with ingredients consumers can’t pronounce and can’t wash off. It was approved by the FDA and the EPA; the same agencies that told us glyphosate, aspartame, and rBGH were safe.

Ask yourself: why is preserving shelf life more important than preserving your life? Why are we spraying invisible coatings onto food when nature already gave it a peel? This isn’t about sustainability. It’s about control.

There have even been multiple reports over the years of human DNA found in fast food meats. McDonald’s denied it, and fact-checkers rushed in to do cleanup. But the story here isn’t about one burger joint—it’s about an entire system built to keep you chemically sedated, nutritionally bankrupt, and too foggy to fight back.

Because when you’re weak, sick, and distracted, you’re not organizing. You can’t resist. You don’t ask questions.

And here’s what most people still don’t understand: these agencies don’t act alone. Congress and the Senate write the laws—often hidden in thousand-page omnibus bills that no one reads—then hand over rule making power to unelected bureaucrats. The agencies are just the middlemen. It’s the legislators—the same Congress and Senate who show up on cable news “outraged” after the fact—who actually authorize it all.

They usher it in, then wash their hands of it like they had nothing to do with it. And the American people fall for it again and again.

But why wouldn’t they do it this way? Corruption in Washington isn’t the exception—it’s the business model. Members of Congress earn a $174,000 annual salary, yet somehow walk out of office with net worths in the tens of millions. You think that’s from budgeting? From good investments? Try backroom deals, insider trading, and pay-to-play politics.

No one making six figures walks away with $20 million unless they’re robbing the public blind. You could be an anesthesiologist in a rural hospital making the same money and still never break a million. But in Congress, it’s practically guaranteed—so long as you vote the right way and keep the poison flowing.

This isn’t a mistake. It’s a model. And it’s working exactly as intended. This is what it looks like when a nation is no longer governed by its people, but by its paymasters. We are the test subjects. The livestock. The raw data. They have poisoned us. They are profiting. And then they pretended to be shocked.

And if that doesn’t make your blood boil, you’ve already been sedated beyond saving. ✪
