VDH: THE CRUDITY OF THE OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE LEFT

lll

he Left’s crude obsession with Trump and conservatives now fuels sabotage, slander, and even celebration of violence—proof their hatred has gone global and unhinged. Donald Trump just visited the United Nations to offer a customary annual presidential address.

Before he arrived, there were reports that UN staffers had joked about shutting down the escalator to chastise Trump for cutting out aid to some UN programs. Upon arrival, as if on cue, Trump was met by a series of mysterious coincidences.

As soon as he and First Lady Melania mounted the escalator, it suddenly froze—forcing them to walk up. Other escalators worked fine. Shortly afterward, the supposedly broken escalator was just as mysteriously running again.

When Trump went to the podium, his teleprompter mysteriously quit—and his alone. As he delivered his speech from a text, the amplification in parts of the assembly was mysteriously lowered to near imperceptible levels.

Despite UN denials, all three “accidents” were too closely tied to Trump to be coincidences. But they remind us that the left-wing hatred of the president has gone global—even after two near-successful assassination attempts.

The House of Representatives recently offered a resolution honoring the life and legacy of the conservative organizer Charlie Kirk, murdered by a leftist assassin. The left both feared and hated Kirk. Why?

He had been singularly successful in redirecting youth’s natural rebelliousness against the status quo onto the ruling, ossified liberal establishment. Kirk was winning over a new generation of young Americans to be counter-culturalists and counter-revolutionaries.

He urged them to question the entire left-wing orthodoxy of higher education, the corporate media, and popular culture—the ruling institutions that the baby boomers had enshrined as the current establishment.

His singular success may be why the terrified left attacked him as much after death as they had while he was alive.

The House effort had followed an earlier bipartisan unanimous resolution honoring a Democrat Minnesota state legislator and her husband, recently murdered by an anti-abortionist assassin.

But unlike that earlier commemoration unanimously passed by all Democrats and Republicans, Kirk’s resolution was variously opposed by over 118 Democrat House members.

The new radical Democrats who increasingly control the party, such as Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Jasmine Crockett, were vocal in smearing the resolution.

But they went well beyond voting no by gratuitously slandering the late Charlie Kirk as an inveterate racist and all-around toxic person not worthy of any commemoration.

The common denominator to all their hateful outbursts was their venomous ignorance, given that they either never referenced anything Kirk actually said and wrote or quoted him inaccurately.

The race-obsessed Crockett whined that “only two Caucasians” had opposed the resolution commemorating Kirk’s life. But this was another lie, since the majority of Democrats expressed their opposition either by voting no (58), abstaining by voting present (38), or by not voting at all (22).

Thus, contrary to Crockett’s trademark racist ranting, the majority of Democrat House members who opposed the resolution included far more than “two Caucasians.”

And even if she were honest, in her racialized world of hatred, would it have been more racist if only “two Caucasians” had opposed the resolution or if the vast majority of the Hispanic and Black caucuses in bloc fashion had overwhelmingly and disproportionately condemned and denigrated Kirk and the resolution?

This increasing coarseness of the left follows its recent canonization of the murderer Luigi Mangione. The left-wing media also suffocated news stories about the horrific, lethal throat-slitting of immigrant Irenya Zarutska by 14-time felon DeCarlos Brown.

Violent attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement centers and individual officers are now routine and more praised than condemned by the left.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is emblematic of this fury and frustration of the new, obsessive-compulsive left. His state is in free-fall. Huge deficits, unfunded mandates, and the highest housing costs, gas prices, and income taxes in the nation force hundreds of thousands of residents yearly to leave.

California’s electricity and gas are likewise the costliest in the U.S. The poverty rate is over 20% of the population. A third of the nation’s welfare recipients live in California. Nearly half of its homeless do too.

Newsom neglects all these existential challenges and instead seeks to outdo his leftist wannabe presidential rivals.

Shortly after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Newsom tweeted an implied threat last Saturday to Homeland Security Director Kristi Noem, warning her that she was “going to have a bad day today. You’re welcome, America.”

He had also earlier threatened the president with violence, “We are going to fight back and we’re going to punch this bully in the mouth.”

And Newsom had earlier extended that warning to half the nation of Trump supporters: “I’m gonna punch these sons of bitches in the mouth.”

The only mystery about the new obsessive-compulsive left is whether their vulgarity, violence, and crudity trickle top-down from the uncouth Democrat elite—or rise bottom-up from thuggish Antifa, BLM, and the rioters who attack ICE and Tesla dealerships, and disrupt Charlie Kirk’s funeral services.✪

▶️ US ECONOMY EXPANDS IN 2025 SECOND QUARTER

US ECONOMY EXPANDS IN 2025 SECOND QUARTER

kkk

S real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 3.8% in the second quarter of 2025, according to the third estimate released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) on Thursday morning.

The rise in real GDP in the second quarter of the year primarily reflected a decrease in imports, the BEA reported. The BEA had initially reported in its second estimate on Aug. 28 that the U.S. economy had grown at an annual rate of 3.3% in the second quarter of the year, beating expectations.

The news release comes after the U.S. economy shrank in the first quarter of 2025, with real GDP decreasing at an annual rate of 0.5%, according to the BEA. The decline in GDP in the first quarter of the year was largely driven by a surge in imports, according to the Associated Press.

“Thursday’s positive economic indicators demonstrate America’s small business backbone is strong and getting stronger,” Job Creators Network (JCN) CEO Alfredo Ortiz said in a statement:

“Economic growth in the second quarter was revised up to nearly 4%, and durable goods orders smashed expectations. These numbers reflect a robust underlying economy that is being powered by Republican tax cuts, including pro-growth provisions such as permanent 100% immediate expensing and the 20% small business deduction.”

New JCN polling shows that 9 in 10 small businesses plan to use their tax cuts to expand, hire, raise wages, or invest in their communities,” Ortiz continued. “Thursday’s economic indicators show that this expansion and investment have already begun and are paying dividends.”

Thursday’s GDP numbers come after the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said in a report released Tuesday that it expects the U.S.’ real GDP growth to decline sharply from 2.8% in 2024 to 1.8% in 2025 due to factors such as higher tariffs and reductions in the federal workforce. Meanwhile, the OECD projected that U.S. GDP would increase by just 1.5% in 2026.

Moreover, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s GDPNow, a running estimate of real GDP growth based on available economic data, projected on Sept. 17 a 3.3% GDP growth rate for the third quarter of 2025. The BEA’s advance estimatefor real GDP in the third quarter of the year is set to be released on Oct. 30.

Additionally, wholesale inflation unexpectedly declined in August, with the producer price index decreasing by 0.1%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Sept. 10. Moreover, U.S. employment growth slowed last month, with employers adding just 22,000 nonfarm payroll jobs, according to BLS data released Sept. 5.

The Federal Reserve announced its first interest rate cut of this year on Sept. 17 following months of President Donald Trump calling for the central bank to slash rates. On Tuesday, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell left the door open for future rate cuts, but warned the Fed is currently grappling with a “challenging situation” due to factors such as higher inflation and lower employment. ✪

COMEY INDICTED FOR LYING TO CONGRESS & OBSTRUCTION

mmm

grand jury indicted former FBI Director James Comey on Thursday on two counts: false statements within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.

The indictment, which was brought by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, centers on alleged false testimony Comey provided to Congress in September of 2020 about his handling of the Russia collusion hoax.

The indictment reads:

“On or about September 30, 2020, in the Eastern District of Virginia, the defendant, JAMES B. COMEY JR., did willfully and knowingly make a materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statement in a matter within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch of the Government of the United States, by falsely stating to a U.S. Senator during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that he … had not ‘authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports’ regarding an FBI investigation concerning PERSON 1.”

The indictment alleges such a statement was false since Comey “then and there knew, he in fact had authorized PERSON 3 to serve as an anonymous source in news reports regarding an FBI investigation concerning PERSON 1.”

The indictment further alleges that Comey tried to “influence, obstruct and impede the due and proper exercise of the power of inquiry … by making false and misleading statements before that committee.”

The charges arise from testimony Comey gave in 2020 when Sen. Ted Cruz questioned him about testimony he previously provided in 2017, in which he stated “he did not authorize leaking information regarding the FBI’s investigations into President Donald Trump or former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,” as described by NBC News. Comey told Cruz he stood by the testimony.

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said Comey was made aware of the leak of information to the press and essentially gave it the stamp of approval after the fact, a 2018 Justice Department inspector general’s report found.

Addressing the indictment, Attorney General Pam Bondi said, “No one is above the law” in a statement on X.

Today’s indictment reflects this Department of Justice’s commitment to holding those who abuse positions of power accountable for misleading the American people. We will follow the facts in this case.”

FBI Director Kash Patel issued a similar statement, saying:

“For far too long, previous corrupt leadership and their enablers weaponized federal law enforcement, damaging once proud institutions and severely eroding public trust. Every day, we continue the fight to earn that trust back, and under my leadership, this FBI will confront the problem head-on.”

“Nowhere was this politicization of law enforcement more blatant than during the Russiagate hoax, a disgraceful chapter in history we continue to investigate and expose. Everyone, especially those in positions of power, will be held to account — no matter their perch,” Patel continued. ✪

▶️ THE LEFT & THE BLOODY LEGACY OF JOHN BROWN

THE LEFT & THE BLOODY LEGACY OF JOHN BROWN

jjj

n the same day this week that a leftist sniper unleashed a deadly attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas, fliers were spotted on the campus of Georgetown University for something called the John Brown Club. The fliers quoted a phrase that Charlie Kirk’s assassin, Tyler Robinson, inscribed on one of the bullets recovered from his rifle: “Hey, Fascist! Catch!” Under this, the flier read, “The only political group that celebrates when Nazis die.”

The flier includes a QR code linking to a signup page that says, “We’re building a community that’s done with ceremonial resistance and strongly worded letters. If you want to make a real change in your community, let us know below.”

In the context of the ongoing wave of left-wing political terrorism in America, this flier for the John Brown Club should be understood as a direct call to violence. A tide of left-wing terrorism is rising in America, thanks largely to incessant incitement by Democrat politicians and aggressive propaganda from the corporate press. The foot soldiers of the left are drawing on — and actually resurrecting — the bloody legacy of John Brown, the abolitionist who unleashed a reign of terror in the years preceding the Civil War.

It’s time to take the Left’s repeated invocations of Brown seriously, because they obviously do.

Consider what happened in Dallas on Wednesday. The suspected sniper, 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, fired from a nearby rooftop at an unmarked ICE van transporting detained migrants. He killed a detainee and seriously injured two others before taking his own life as police closed in. A rifle cartridge recovered from the scene was inscribed “ANTI ICE.”

As of this writing, details were still emerging about Jahn, but he apparently comes from a left-leaning family in suburban Dallas and himself was a Democrat voter whose now-deleted Facebook page included Antifa and communist imagery. Like Robinson, who also inscribed left-wing slogans on his rifle cartridges, it seems Jahn used an older bolt-action rifle to carry out his attack on the ICE facility.

Two months ago, a major Antifa plot to ambush and kill ICE agents in Alvarado, Texas, was foiled, but only after a police officer was shot in the neck. Eleven left-wing extremists, members of a North Texas Antifa cell, were arrested on federal charges of terrorism and attempted murder. They were heavily armed with rifles, pistols, and body armor.

One of the suspects in that case is a man named Benjamin Song, a longtime Antifa agitator who was a member of something called the John Brown Gun Club, which has chapters all over the country.

In 2019, a man named Willem van Spronsen, who was a member of a John Brown Gun Club chapter near Seattle, was killed by authorities when he tried to blow up an ICE facility in Tacoma. Van Spronsen, 69, was an avowed anarchist and member of Antifa. He sent a manifesto to friends the day before the assault on the ICE facility in which he wrote “I am Antifa.” And he was later lionized by members of the group as a “martyr” in a Facebook post.

“Throughout history we idolize figures like John Brown for their courage to take the ultimate stand against oppression, and today we stand strong in our support for yet another martyr in the struggle against fascism,” the post read. “May his death serve as a call to protest and direct action.”

These recurring historical references to John Brown should be a wake-up call to the Trump administration and federal law enforcement agencies. Simply put, to invoke Brown is to justify — and threaten — political violence and terrorism.

Recall that Brown fervently believed that violence — cold-blooded execution, in fact — was totally justified in the fight against slavery. It was Brown who led the infamous Pottawatomie Massacre in 1856 in the Kansas Territory. The massacre was the most notable of the many violent episodes during these years that would come to be known as “Bleeding Kansas.”

On the night of May 24, 1856, Brown led a band of armed men, including his adult sons, to three different private houses known to belong to members of the pro-slavery party. They forced their way in, dragged the men of these houses out and butchered them with broadswords. In all, five unarmed men were killed in cold blood that night.

Three years later, Brown launched his failed raid on the armory at Harper’s Ferry. Ironically, that raid began with the killing of a free black man named Heyward Shepherd, a husband and father of five who worked as a baggage handler at Harper’s Ferry on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. As Brown’s raiders crossed the bridge over the Potomac River they encountered Shepherd and ordered him to stop. He didn’t, and they fired, fatally wounding him.

That’s the legacy that the American Left is resurrecting and making their own. Like Brown, they’re ideologues who see themselves as above the law and anyone who opposes them or gets in their way as deserving of death, or at least as expendable.

And like Brown, they won’t stop their reign of terror unless the duly constituted authorities stop them by force. ✪
