n blue cities across America; Portland, Oregon, especially, often violent protesters now seek to surround ICE facilities to stop federal officers from fulfilling their assigned and legal duties of arresting illegal aliens.
Some 10 million or more illegal aliens were allowed to enter the U.S. during the Biden years—illegally and thus without criminal or health checks.
Neither Antifa nor liberal urban America objected to such a flagrant disregard for the law. But both are now as intent on obstructing the legal enforcement of the law as they were earlier in favor of its illegal non-enforcement.
Much less did they care about the consequences of sending millions of foreign nationals into cities and counties where they swamped social services, spiked crime, and flooded emergency rooms and schools.
ICE has repeatedly presented data that show in its first rounds of deportations, it is concentrating on removing either criminal illegal aliens or those who have already been processed with deportation orders, somewhere between 70 and 90 percent of all current apprehensions. No matter.
Left-wing protesters are swarming ICE headquarters in Portland to violently oppose all deportations, even those of known criminals and those who have already exhausted efforts to remain here illegally.
Why? The Democrat Party apparat knows that the public wants both secure borders and deportations of illegal aliens. Indeed, in part, it lost an election by its open-borders advocacy.
However, Democrat officials feel if street thugs like Antifa can surround and besiege ICE facilities in Portland, Oregon, then deportations will stop. Then, a de facto amnesty will follow for millions who entered the U.S. illegally; and will soon become Democrat constituents.
As a result, they do not fully enforce the law when thugs attack federal law enforcement. Antifa and its spin-off groups favor the night, when they try to block all entries and exits of ICE vehicles and personnel, and can commit their violence with greater anonymity.
The masked rioters assault anyone in their way. They count on exemption from punishment for committing violence against federal officers through the goodwill or indifference of kindred local and state officials who hate the Trump Administration more than they respect the law. An Orwellian scenario follows in which federal officers are attacked by Antifa, which in turn counts on the non-intervention of local police.
Summed up: the city of Portland’s armed officers are in a de facto proxy war with their federal counterparts; in our version of something out of 1860, on the eve of a real civil war.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson and Oregon Governor Tina Kotek feel their constituents want open borders and thus should have the right in their own city and state to do as they please—and federal law be damned.
However by doing so, both the Democrat Party officialdom and the street armies of Antifa are on the proverbial wrong side of history.
America for almost 200 years has already decided, in formal law and court rulings, that no local or state entity can disrupt the enforcement of federal laws or usurp Washington’s powers. To do so with impunity would unravel the American nation in short order.
We know that from our own violent history. Andrew Jackson, in 1832, like Trump, threatened to send troops to stop South Carolina’s nullification of federal tariff laws.
America fought a Civil War over Confederate states’ efforts to ignore federal law and confiscate or occupy federal property within their state jurisdictions.
As late as 1963, Alabama Governor George Wallace thought he could nullify federal law by using his state guard to deny black students’ enrollment in the University of Alabama—until the Kennedy Administration federalized all state troopers and sent in additional federal troops.
So what we are witnessing in Portland—and elsewhere—is a neo-Confederate attempt to supersede federal law; and, in reactionary fashion, invoke states’ and cities’ rights.
Oregon and Portland believe that they are more moral than the Federal Government and thus have a natural right to side with street mobs by both not enforcing their own laws against Antifa violence and ignoring the innate civil rights of ICE personnel.
The latter are denied freedom of movement, association, and the ability to fulfill their job duties by what has turned out to be a near city-sanctioned siege of their facilities.
The Democrats are fine with all this. They think the violence against ICE will be portrayed daily as general chaos by their allied media. Thus, the proverbial people who keep clear of the siege and its detritus will simply want all the bother to go away—and supposedly blame those enforcing, not breaking, the law. In sum, the Democrat Party is the official face of the Left. Antifa provides the street shock troops, and the media serves as its propaganda arm.
So, the left-wing logic is to allow the violence and siege to continue in a “safe space” for Antifa. A strapped ICE will supposedly eventually shut down operations and move on. And any violence that occurs can be chalked up to Trump’s Federal Government “baiting” Portlanders.
The reigning moralistic assumption is that ceding territory to terrorists, not enforcing local and state laws, and nullifying federal statutes are all small prices to pay for the larger projection of chaos and violence that can be blamed on Trump.
Such thinking entails utter indifference to any Portlanders who live near the siege and are nightly subjected to constant disruptions, harassment, and occasional violence. Do these law-abiding residents have fewer civil rights than the lawbreaking armies of the night?
In contrast, the use of federal troops to stop the siege of ICE facilities will remind the violent protesters of the left that their neo-Confederate tactics will not work, but instead subject them to arrest and federal indictments.
Bringing in federal forces to uphold the law will also protect the rights of ICE personnel and neighborhood residents to live in peace and security and have their constitutional protections secured. Not all American citizens are Portlanders, but all Portland citizens are Americans.
In other words, both Antifa and the appeasing Oregon officials are our new neo-Confederate secessionists. They feel that their states are now autonomous entities that are still entitled to federal money but not obligated to follow federal laws.
Portland also reminds us of the recent utter incoherence of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. On the one hand, she pleads for federal dollars to restore her city’s burned-out neighborhoods due to her own incompetence and neglect, while on the other hand actively obstructs the Federal Government from enforcing immigration laws in her own city.
For a party that has been quick to shout “insurrection,” it is ironic that Democrats and their useful, though violent, Antifa insurrectionists are in rebellion against the Federal Government and its agents.
It is hard to know which is worse—the Antifa thug who nightly tries to injure a federal officer, or the sanctimonious neo-Confederate official who empowers him to keep trying? ✪

When the unelected military overrides the U.S. Constitution and decides what is and is not the law, and what laws will and will not be enforced, and brushes the elected president aside to make those calls, this is called a coup.
What the treasonous and anti-democracy Atlantic is doing here is using the language of democracy to demand the military unravel democracy. I don’t link to fascist propaganda, but here are some examples:
“Trump clearly wants to use military power to exert more control over the American people, and soon, top U.S. military commanders may have to decide whether they will refuse such orders from the commander in chief. The president has determined—on his own—that he can go to war against ‘narco-terrorists,’ and he has furthermore decided that he can order the military to blow up these suspected drug runners at will.”
This is especially toxic:
As opposition grows and his popularity falls, Trump may be tempted to issue orders to the military that will be aimed at suppressing dissent, or disrupting elections, or detaining political figures; he has already floated the idea of invoking the Insurrection Act, which could enable such actions. He may even become desperate enough to launch a foreign war—as he seems to be trying to do right now with Venezuela. If more of these orders come, how should the leaders of America’s armed forces respond?
Here’s the closer:
The military do need some reassurance that they have support from their chain of command to resist illegal orders. And the rest of us, whether we’re elected officials or ordinary citizens, should do everything we can to let our fellow Americans in uniform know that if they risk their careers and even their freedom to protect the Constitution, we will stand with them.
So, let’s unpack what’s happening here. Overall, the Atlantic is openly calling on members of the U.S. Military to launch a constitutional crisis by seizing control of the military from the President of the United States, who, per the U.S. Constitution, is the military’s sole commander-in-chief.
Once the military defies an elected president, that’s it—democracy over. One of the reasons our republic has lasted 250 years is civilian control over the military. Even better, this control is given to this civilian through our sole nationwide referendum—a presidential election.
No sane or rational person wants unelected military personnel rather than the person we elected deciding what the military will and won’t do.

Bottom line: The Atlantic is so deranged in its frustration over President Trump’s serial triumphs that they would prefer we instead become a Banana Republic.
What’s more, nothing detailed by the Atlantic as out of bounds is out of bounds. Much of it isn’t even true (not that the Atlantic has ever concerned itself with accuracy).
Trump declaring war on anything, including narcoterrorists, is perfectly legal. What would be illegal and seditious is the military refusing Trump’s orders to bomb those boats.
Trump “launching a foreign war” against any country, including Venezuela, is perfectly legal. What would be illegal and seditious is for the military to refuse Trump’s orders to wage that war.
Now to the dishonest part. The Atlantic speculates:

There is no evidence that Trump is in favor of this. None. Zero. Nada. Trump has only floated the Insurrection Act within the context of these Confederate mayors and governors who refuse to obey federal law, protect federal property, and protect federal personnel in the form of ICE. It is also legal-Legal-LEGAL for the president to invoke the Insurrection Act. That is one of the executive powers the LAW gives him.
The only outrage here is the Atlantic calling on the military to violate the law, violate the Constitution, and launch a coup to stop a legally elected president from wielding his legal authority.
Here’s a factoid the Confederate Atlantic quickly mentions and then glosses over when it’s the whole ballgame: “Trump’s attempt to militarize America’s cities is still being tested in court.”
Yes, that’s correct. The system is working, and Trump has so far not defied a single court order. Not one. Even though those court orders from insurrectionist judges violate their own Constitutional authority, Trump has respected them.
Ask yourself this…If the President violates the law, what’s the remedy?
Well, there’s impeachment, there’s the 25th Amendment, there’s the political blowback and fallout for his Party (which can last years), and military commanders can always resign rather than follow what they interpret as an illegal order. Ah, but…
If the U.S. military takes the law into its own hands, as the Atlantic is openly calling on it to do, what’s the remedy? There is none. The military has all the power, all the guns, all the manpower, all the deadly force, all the nukes… No one can stop them. Not the law. Not political pressure.
Dog whistling for a military coup against Trump is a naked act of fascism from the Atlantic. That’s how bitter and frustrated Democrats are—they’re willing to destroy America to hurt the Orange Bad Man.

ong ago, Americans viewed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with tremendous admiration. It was considered a premier law enforcement agency and was favorably depicted in countless television shows and movies.
Sadly, that reputation has suffered greatly in recent years. It changed from being viewed as unbiased and revered to having a reputation as partisan and untrustworthy. This turnabout accelerated during the tenure of James Comey as FBI Director.
In May 2017, President Donald Trump fired Comey. Among other issues, Trump was disgusted with Comey’s handling of the phony Russian collusion investigation. He refused to publicly exonerate President Trump, although he privately told him he was not the focus of an investigation.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein wrote a memo recommending that Comey be fired for his handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s improper use of a private email server. Comey infamously refused to charge Clinton even though she likely committed numerous crimes.
On Thursday, a grand jury indicted Comey. He was charged with “serious crimes related to the disclosure of sensitive information.” Specifically, Comey was indicted for obstructing a congressional investigation and making a false statement that “he did not authorize someone at the FBI to be an anonymous source.”
According to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is committed to “holding those who abuse positions of power accountable for misleading the American people.” FBI Director Kash Patel stated that Comey participated in the “politicization of law enforcement.” He claimed that the false allegations that Trump colluded with Russia was “a disgraceful chapter in history we continue to investigate and expose.”
By using an anonymous source to leak to the media, Comey successfully created a special counsel investigation into President Trump, led by Robert Mueller, that lasted almost two years and cost taxpayers $32 million. The investigation found Trump was not involved in Russian collusion and Mueller refused to charge the President with obstruction of justice.
While the Mueller investigation failed to indict President Trump, it did succeed in creating a two-year distraction that harmed the administration in many ways. Comey knew the “Steele Dossier” was an unverified document, but it was used by FBI officials to obtain warrants from the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) to surveil former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
This allowed the FBI to, in effect, spy on Trump during his campaign, his transition and after he took the presidential oath of office. Only later did the DOJ admit that the requests to surveil Page “lacked probable cause” and included 17 “misstatements or omissions.”
As FBI Director, Comey was a disaster. He should have charged Clinton, exonerated Trump and completely dismissed the bogus “Steele Dossier.” He should never have authorized warrant applications based on lies or sanctioned media leaks.
He seemingly lied to Congress, which is why he was indicted. Of course, the liberal media is saying that President Trump is pushing the Department of Justice to indict Comey as a way of retaliating against his political enemies.
The media has no problem with Trump being the victim of a Russian collusion hoax or their colleagues receiving Pulitzer Prizes for false reporting about the fraud. The media was fine with the outrageous lawfare conducted against President Trump, which was initiated by President Joe Biden’s DOJ allies and leftwing “blue state” prosecutors in Fulton County, Georgia, and New York City.
Comey maintains he is innocent and that he looks forward to a trial. The judge in his case is a former public defender who was appointed by President Biden. Trump posted that Comey is a “Dirty Cop,” but with the judicial assignment, his case is “off to a very good start.”
Comey appeared in Federal court on October 9 for arraignment. He had the charges read to him and he entered a plea. Such respectful treatment was not afforded to Trump advisor Roger Stone, who was charged by Mueller.
Stone posted online, “James Comey and I were charged with the exact same crimes. Why did 29 heavily armed FBI agents storm my home at 6 AM to arrest me after tipping off CNN while James Comey never voluntarily surrendered for his arrest.”
Yes, Stone asks a legitimate question, for there is still a double standard at the FBI. The FBI led the raid on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in 2022 which featured agents ransacking the First Lady’s closet and Barron Trump’s bedroom.
Fortunately, Christopher Wray is no longer the FBI Director as he could be facing the same legal troubles as James Comey.
In congressional testimony in July 2023, Wray said “As I sit here right now, I do not believe there were undercover (FBI) agents” embedded in the crowd of protesters at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. However, in a report released last week, it was revealed that there were 274 plainclothes FBI agents among the crowd around the U.S. Capitol. U.S. Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) posted online that Wray “will be held accountable for this lie.”
Patel has a tremendous challenge ahead to restore the country’s faith in his agency. He needs to update the American people on the investigation into the two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life and the mysterious January 6th pipe bomber. Why has so little information been released?
In the Charlie Kirk assassination, there are mounting questions the FBI needs to address about the suspected killer, the text messages with his partner and other aspects of the case.
Also, Patel needs to clean house at the FBI. It was a good start to fire the 20 agents who were photographed kneeling during a June 4, 2020 demonstration protesting the death of George Floyd.
FBI agents should not be participating in political demonstrations or unfairly targeting President Trump and his supporters. One day, let us hope Americans will again recognize the FBI as the nation’s premier law enforcement agency. ✪

ongressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) is continuing his fight to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), with the introduction of HR 114, which would “completely and responsibly repeal Obamacare.”
Biggs has been fighting for years to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, calling it “a disaster that never worked and only led to increased premiums across the country.”
One of the key issues underlying Biggs’ call for complete repeal of the ACA is that it has caused healthcare costs to skyrocket and is only affordable when it is heavily subsidized by the taxpayers.
In a post on Facebook earlier this week, Biggs noted that “Every single Republican campaigned on repealing Obamacare,” and added, “The GOP has no excuse to cave on this issue.”
Biggs had introduced HR 114 in January 2025, having previously introduced a similar repeal bill in the 118th Congress.
If his bill were to become law and the ACA were fully repealed, employers and their benefits advisors could see a return of medical underwriting in the fully insured small-group market.
Passage of HR 114 could also bring about the elimination of the federal rule banning annual or lifetime limits on coverage for essential health benefits and the federal rule requiring plans to keep children on their parents’ coverage up until age 26.
Biggs’ bill faces review by eight different committees, including the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the House Ways and Means Committee, the House Education and the Workforce Committee, the House Natural Resources Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, the House Administration Committee, the House Appropriations Committee and the House Rules Committee.
Critics of the ACA have long complained that Obamacare has not made their healthcare more affordable but instead has caused massive increases in premiums with those escalating costs being picked up by the taxpayers.
Republicans have taken considerable heat over the past 15 years for their failure to repeal Obamacare, even when having majorities in the House and Senate.

live in Virginia which means I, like my fellow Virginians, are in the midst of our gubernatorial race. This weekend, we and the rest of the country got a good view of a deep-seated problem in politics in this state. Jay Jones, a Democrat running for the Attorney General position this fall, was exposed for the radical that he truly is. As we all read the hate-filled messages, we also took note of the milquetoast response by the Left.
For those of you that may missed it, Jay Jones called for death of Republican House of Delegates leader Todd Gilbert, literally fantasizing about shooting him in the head. He further desired that Gilbert’s wife and children would die, and even went so far as to express his desire to “piss on their graves” of Gilbert and other Republicans. This, in the same week the Jones was convicted of speeding at 116 miles per hour, something he called, “a mistake.” This is a Democrat running to be the top law enforcement official in the state.
It should come as no surprise. Abigail Spanberger has also been encouraging voters to embrace their “rage” and let it “fuel” them. In her comments about Jones, she expressed disappointment, but did not call for him to step down. Jones offered a half-hearted apology, then used his apology to rant about Donald Trump. To date, the Democrats, while saying they are saddened by these comments, still embrace Jay Jones as their candidate.
The media went into protection mode. The “piss on their graves” comment was omitted from most reports. One CBS TV station WTVR out of Richmond, claimed that references to the texts that Jones posted were “accusations,” despite the fact Jones had admitted they were indeed his. The Washington Post said that controversy “roiled” the election, glossing over the heinous nature of what Jones had posted. As usual, the legacy media moved into a cover-up mode, downplaying the text messages or simply not reporting them.
We saw similar behavior in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. From the Democrat politicians; a momentary announcement of shock, followed by the same rage/hate filled rhetoric that led to such acts. From the media, distortions and outright coverup.
For the first time, they are showing themselves for what they are and what they desire. Coexistence and cooperation is not possible with a political party that wants you dead. Spanberger’s evasiveness in light of the Jones texts tells you a great deal about her. Many of her followers are posting they support Jones even more. This highlights that her message of rage and hate is playing well with her base. In this post Kirk-era, one would think they would tone down their messaging. Not Spanberger. In fact, not any of the Dems running for office. Their solution to the Jay Jones problem, run pro-abortion ads. It’s like a broken record of the last four election cycles.
We are dealing with a political party that has embraced violence since 2020. Look at the recent riots in LA, Portland, and Chicago. When the Left doesn’t get its way, they openly encourage confrontation. They are playing a game of blackmail, offering to stop rioting if ICE simply ignores federal law. These would be the same people that would turn around and impeach President Trump if he bent the knee to their demands. There is no satisfying a political party that embraces violence.
In any other period in our history, Jay Jones would have stepped down in shame as both parties called for him to do so. While the Democrats are pretending to be shocked, none of their candidates are calling for Jones to give up the race. They are more than willing to put an emotionally unstable lawbreaker into office… anything other than a Republican.
With early voting already underway, it is difficult to say whether the Jones controversy will cost the Left the election. It should. One thing is for sure, it is firing up conservatives in the state. Slowly the message is getting out about Jones and it should be an albatross around the neck of Abigail Spanberger for her lack of leadership. As she has trumpeted about fueling rage, we are getting a good glimpse of what her administration would have in store for Republicans.
Virginia deserves better… much better than the Democrat Party in our fine state. So does the rest of America. ✪

he U.S. Energy Department under President Donald Trump and Secretary Chris Wright is committed to saving American taxpayers’ money.
In an Oct. 1 press release, the Energy Department announced that it had axed 321 awards which were to fund 223 different projects. The sheer scope and size of our Federal Government is mind-blowing. And with the national debt nearing $38 trillion, it has never been so important to cut federal spending, which is why the work of the Trump Administration to reduce federal bloat is a massive win.
Altogether, the Department of Energy (DOE) clarified, ending those projects saved American taxpayers $7.56 billion. The projects in question were either unnecessary or not “economically viable,” per the DOE press release.
Secretary Wright emphasized how many unnecessary and woke grants the Biden-Harris Administration had tried to sneak in at the last minute. “On day one, the Energy Department began the critical task of reviewing billions of dollars in financial awards, many rushed through in the final months of the Biden administration with inadequate documentation by any reasonable business standard,” he said. The Biden Administration was fully committed to unscientific and impoverishing climate alarmism.
Wright boasted, “President Trump promised to protect taxpayer dollars and expand America’s supply of affordable, reliable, and secure energy. Today’s cancellations deliver on that commitment. Rest assured, the Energy Department will continue reviewing awards to ensure that every dollar works for the American people.”
Wright’s team found over a fourth (26%) of the 321 terminated financial awards had been awarded between Election Day 2024 and Trump’s Inauguration Day, and were to cost taxpayers no less than $3.1 billion. Fortunately, that outgoing Democrat ploy didn’t succeed.
The awards identified and ended by the new leadership included one from the Offices of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), and Grid Deployment (GDO). Others came from the Offices of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC), Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), and Fossil Energy (FE), per the DOE press release.
In May 2025, Secretary Wright issued a Secretarial Memorandum entitled, “Ensuring Responsibility for Financial Assistance,” establishing a new policy for evaluating financial awards. The policy authorized program offices to request additional information from awardees. It also required that awards be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to identify waste, safeguard taxpayer dollars, protect America’s national security, and advance President Trump’s commitment to deliver affordable, reliable, and secure energy for the American people.
Awardees of now-terminated grants can appeal for up to 30 days after, which some have already begun to do, but it seems unlikely that they will convince the Trump-Wright DOE to alter its decisions.
The more money we can save America by terminating useless, climate alarmist, money-sucking projects, the better. ✪

uban citizens in Marianao, Havana, protested this week to denounce blackouts, hunger and neglect under the communist regime; defying recent threats by figurehead “President” Miguel Díaz-Canel against dissidents, Martí Noticias reported on Wednesday.
September marked the month with the most protests in Cuba in 2025 so far, according to the Cuban Observatory for Human Rights (OCDH), a non-governmental organization. OCDH documented 1,121 known protests in September, almost 100 protests more than the 1023 documented during August.
The organization further reported that it documented 323 incidents in which the protesters challenged Cuban state police officers “bold enough to provoke a repressive reaction,” including instances of pot-banging, street blockades, and heated discussions with the officers. OCDH logged 152 known instances of regime repression in September, up from 89 in August. The report read:
“Anger over endless blackouts and the increasingly critical lack of running water led to hundreds of complaints about public services, and repression intensified once again against political prisoners, opponents, activists, and members of civil society in general. Reports of public insecurity saw an alarming doubling in the number of deaths, disappearances, violence, and crime.”
Following several days of continuous blackouts and worsening running water shortages, Cubans in central Havana organized a protest, reportedly blocking roads, chanting “freedom” and other slogans, and lighting up a bonfire during the blackout.
Díaz-Canel responded to the protests on Saturday by threatening Cubans who demand electricity and water, claiming, “no one is authorized to close a public road.” The figurehead “president” demanded that any citizens’ complaints must instead be made at “established places” such as Cuban Communist Party offices. Díaz-Canel issued the threats during his participation in a purported “garbage collection” campaign in Havana.
Cuban citizens condemned Díaz-Canel’s threats, reportedly describing them as “out of place” and a form of “population control.” Cuban national Yanan Camaraza Medina told Martí Noticias:
“I have been going to the Party and the Government for four years to explain my situation, and I have never received a response. That mechanism he proposes for serving the population doesn’t work here. It’s just to keep you under control, but in the end, they’re not going to help you or give you an answer.”
Martí Noticias reported on Wednesday that residents of the Havana municipality of Marianao defied Diáz-Canel’s threats and flocked to the streets during a blackout on Tuesday to demand “electricity, food, and freedom.” Dozens of Cubans blocked access to Marianao’s Avenue 51 during the protest in defiance to the figurehead “president.” Witnesses reportedly denounced on social media that Cuban police officers arrived and detained several protesters.
Residents of Marianao spoke with the outlet Cubanet under condition of anonymity and narrated that the protest started after an over nine-hour-long blackout hit the municipality. One resident asserted that the regime restored electric power after the protesters banged pots.
“Yes, they closed the avenue at 51 and 88B. They banged pots and pans throughout the neighborhood, but as always, someone tipped them off and the police truck came. For four days, they had been turning the power on and off every 10 or 15 minutes, and today it had been off since two in the afternoon,” one of the residents told Cubanet.
“Since seven o’clock, when they turned on the power, they’ve cut it off four times. How can people not take to the streets? Today we were without power from two in the afternoon. It’s too much: the heat, the uncertainty. How long will this misfortune last? And to top it all off, we’ve been without internet almost all day,” another resident said.
Cubanet stated Castro regime authorities have not issued any official statement on the Marianao protests or on possible arrests.
“The repression of protest is a profound blow to the principles of freedom of thought and expression. At ICLEP, we denounce the imposition of fear, physical aggression, and arrests of those who exercise their right to demand change in their reality,” the Miami-based Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and the Press (ICLEP) said on Wednesday. ✪

“It’s true, Turning Point USA is thrilled to announce The All American Halftime Show,” Turning Point USA declared in a Thursday X post, adding, “Performers and event details coming soon.”
Founded by conservative icon and free speech martyr, Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA also shared a virtual flyer in its post, which referred to their upcoming halftime show as an event “celebrating faith, family, and freedom.”
Notably, Turning Point USA’s event will transpire on the same day as the NFL’s Super Bowl LX, which recently revealed Bad Bunny as the headliner for its halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The pop singer, who is a virulent critic of President Donald Trump and conflates illegal aliens and legal immigration in his music; fell under scrutiny on Tuesday, after he was seen refusing to stand during “God Bless America” at the New York Yankees playoff game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.
Nearly three weeks ago, Turning Point USA hosted a memorial for its assassinated founder, Charlie Kirk, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where the crowd size exceeded those of NFL football games, with overflow attendees viewing the service at the Desert Diamond Arena.
Kirk’s murder sent a shockwave through the world, sparking an outpouring of grief for the Turning Point USA founder, who had become a martyr for free speech after he was assassinated while trying to have an open and respectful dialogue with a student at Utah Valley University on September 10.
