✪ I warn readers that Biden is not Kennedy’s target. It’s Trump. Democrats want a Pretend Populist to keep Trump from winning re-election. This explains the praise of Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., who is challenging Biden for the presidential nomination…

ichael Brendan Dougherty at National Review gushed, “Just as Donald Trump had retrieved political themes from the deep past of the Republican Party — an America First foreign policy, trade protectionism — so it must be that a Democrat should come along and try to revive left-leaning skepticism of government and corporate power, to denounce crony capitalism, censorship and the CIA to boot.”
“Something about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s halting delivery, which is due to the very rare condition of spasmodic dysphonia, gives his rhetoric a desperate-sounding sincerity. He sounds like he is constantly choking up, constantly on the edge of being overwhelmed by passion. Perhaps this voice was given to him because he is the last pallbearer of this tradition of left American politics.”
So National Review scrubs its Never Trump history and admits Trump revived the Republican Party — but only to boost the latest Egg McMuffin thrown his way.
Outkick, a conservative sports site, reported breathlessly, “Robert Kennedy Jr. has become one of the first prominent Democrats to accept common sense.”
He opposes having men compete in women’s sports. The story pointed out the House passed a bill to ban trannies from women’s sports. Outkick said, “Yet every single Democrat Representative voted against it.”
Then Outkick praised Kennedy for telling America’s most popular cable news channel, MSNBC, “I am against people participating in women’s sports who are biologically male. I think women have worked too hard . . . over the past 30 years. I don’t think that’s fair.”
Kennedy also draws applause for his opposition to covid vaccine mandates, which also attracts some on the right. The dude has opposed vaccines for years. He’s a political Jenny McCarthy using a discredited paper published by The Lancet that said vaccines cause autism.
He did, however, oppose the covid vaccine mandated. He sides with the angels on this one.
Disney’s ABC censored him over that. The Hill reported, “ABC News edits RFK Jr. interview to exclude ‘false claims about the COVID-19 vaccines.’” There are questions as to whether it is legal for a network to censor a presidential candidate like that.
But just because he is right on one or two issues does not make him a conservative any more than Bill Kristol or Jonah the Whale. Sadly, some conservatives keep falling in love in their search for someone to champion the cause.
Kevin Downey at PJ Media wrote, “Tinfoil Haturday: How RFK Jr. Could Save the Republic and Avenge His Father and Uncle.”
Downey said, “RFK Jr. is saying a lot of things I wish more Republicans would say. He believes that COVID-19 — and other vaccines — are garbage. Most importantly, he wants a reckoning for those who chose to decimate our nation with draconian lockdowns.”
“In an interview with ABC’s Linsey Davis, Kennedy accurately referred to the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization as captive agencies and Davis gets visibly cranky when Kennedy won’t toe the COVID codswallop line.
“Linsey even prods Kennedy that two of his own siblings won’t vote for him, as though that is proof his opinions are wrong. She falsely states twice that one of his siblings deemed him ‘dangerous,’ when in fact, his sister stated that “he RFK Jr. has helped to spread dangerous misinformation over social media and is complicit in sowing mistrust over the science of vaccines.’ She never said that RFK Jr. himself is dangerous.”
Then Downey dove into the deep end of conspiracy theories that the CIA offed President Kennedy and his brother. The problem with that is neither assassin seemed to benefit from the murders. Oswald’s ex-wife had to sign up for welfare to feed their babies. For 60 years these theories have been floated and each sank.
That conservatives support Kennedy because he says a few things they want to hear is dismaying because Kennedy was, is and forever will be a Democrat. You vote for one, you vote for all of them because there are no moderates in that party any more.
I remember readers telling me Manchin would switch parties. I said unh-unh. That talk disappeared when he voted to pass the Green New Deal (under the title Inflation Reduction Act).

Don’t fall for Kennedy. He is aimed at peeling off Trump Democrats when he runs as a third-party candidate. He would vote for another Green New Deal in a heartbeat and raise taxes in the name of soaking the rich — which always drenches the middle class. Oh, he is denouncing the climate change billionaires.
The Daily Caller reported on Friday that Kennedy said, “Climate issues and pollution issues are being exploited by, you know, the World Economic Forum and Bill Gates and all of these big, you know, mega-billionaires, the same way that COVID was exploited, to use it as an excuse to clamp down top-down totalitarian controls on society.”
Kennedy also said, “They’ve given climate chaos a bad name, you know, because people now see that it’s just another crisis that’s being used to strip mine the wealth of the poor and to, you know, to enrich billionaires and I for 40 years, have had the same policy on climate and engineering, you can go check my speeches from the 1980s and I’ve said, the most important solution for environmental issues, not top down controls is free-market capitalism.”
When a liberal says free-market capitalism, they mean coercing Bud Light to give Dana Mulvaney an endorsement contract.
Kennedy is hilariously hypocritical on environmentalism. On December 16, 2005, he wrote a piece for the New York Times, “An Ill Wind Off Cape Cod.”
He began, “As an environmentalist, I support wind power, including wind power on the high seas. I am also involved in siting wind farms in appropriate landscapes, of which there are many. But I do believe that some places should be off limits to any sort of industrial development. I wouldn’t build a wind farm in Yosemite National Park. Nor would I build one on Nantucket Sound, which is exactly what the company Energy Management is trying to do with its Cape Wind project.”
He is saying his whack-o unscientific windmills are for thee, not me.
Then there was his column in the LA Times on September 24, 2008, in which he accused Sarah Palin and Exxon of causing a storm and waterspout while he was water-skiing off the coast of Hyannis, Massachusetts.
He wrote, “In Virginia, the weather also has changed dramatically. Recently arrived residents in the northern suburbs, accustomed to today’s anemic winters, might find it astonishing to learn that there were once ski runs on Ballantrae Hill in McLean, with a rope tow and local ski club. Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don’t own a sled. But neighbors came to our home at Hickory Hill nearly every winter weekend to ride saucers and Flexible Flyers.”
“In those days, I recall my uncle, President Kennedy, standing erect as he rode a toboggan in his top coat, never faltering until he slid into the boxwood at the bottom of the hill. Once, my father, Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, brought a delegation of visiting Eskimos home from the Justice Department for lunch at our house. They spent the afternoon building a great igloo in the deep snow in our backyard. My brothers and sisters played in the structure for several weeks before it began to melt. On weekend afternoons, we commonly joined hundreds of Georgetown residents for ice skating on Washington’s C&O Canal, which these days rarely freezes enough to safely skate.”
Two winters later, David Freddoso, then-Online Opinion Editor of the Washington Examiner recalled that Kennedy column predicting snowless winters.
He wrote, “Having shoveled my walk five times in the midst of this past weekend’s extreme cold and blizzard, I think perhaps RFK Jr. should leave weather analysis to the meteorologists instead of trying to attribute every global phenomenon to anthropogenic climate change.”
Kennedy replied, “Idiots on the right like Rush like to point to any cold-weather anomalies as proof that global warming doesn’t exist.”
He is not one of us but he may siphon votes from Trump next year, so look for all those evil companies he doesn’t like to open their wallets for Kennedy.✪
