For decades, Democrats have ridden out the interest of third-wave feminism’s propaganda campaign, taking for granted that most women voters see them as the party of female empowerment. For just as many decades, plenty of American women have let them.
Even at the height of the feminist movement, the lies that women must become like men to be real women were damaging — but now, all of those pretenses have been exhausted. Every major political platform of the Left is unabashedly counter & antithetical to the protection, celebration, and dignity of womanhood. Women have only one political camp completely on their side today, and it’s the Conservative Right.
Celebrating Women’s Capacity For Motherhood
As the country awaits the Supreme Court’s release of its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, which is expected to overturn the imaginary right to kill a child in the womb, one side is already screaming that women’s inherent biological capabilities to bear children are not something to be celebrated but something oppressive to be (literally) ripped out of women’s bodies. The Left says womanhood and its biological functions are bad, inconvenient, and must be bloodily suppressed in order for women to achieve their full potential.
These are the same people also firebombing women’s shelters which provide help and hope to pregnant mothers. The very same people using fear & scare tactics in an effort to shut down the very support they accuse the Right of not providing. Yet as bad as that it, none of it compares with the fact abortion advocates support the murder of hundreds of thousands of baby girls in America every single year; claiming it is a “reproductive right & freedom.”
On the other hand, it’s the Right which fights for the lives of these baby girls by offering support and supplies to women through pregnancy centers; and, by recognizing a woman’s life-giving functions as something honorable and wonderful. Women aren’t so helpless that we need a license to kill our babies in order to be successful — but only one political party today is honest enough to tell you that.
Demanding More Responsible Men
Of course, some of the fiercest advocates for abortion are men who don’t want to shoulder the emotional and financial responsibilities of providing for their children and their children’s mothers. The leftist abortion narrative invites men to impregnate women and then pressure those women into killing the resulting children while saddling those women with the trauma and guilt of abortion.
Unlike abortion, marriage protects women. It provides a social contract which requires men offer provision and loyalty in return for a woman’s love. Marriage provides women with stability. In advocating for committed healthy marriages and stable families, conservatives promote a culture that provides the basis for familial happiness by bringing out the best in both men and women.
In contrast, third-wave feminism has fed women the lie that marriage is oppressive and limiting instead of personally rewarding. Combine that with radical individualism’s message to commitment-phobic men, and you’re left with a lonely culture of single women wondering where all the good men have gone.
The Left’s attack on marriage has hurt women much more than it has ever helped them. A political point of view which insists upon responsibility from men does far more to support women than one which encourages both sexes to indulge their short-term lusts. In the latter scenario, both eventually lose; but it’s almost always women who are left with the most baggage and pain.
Protecting Women’s Right To Self Defense
One of the most obvious ways the Leftist Agenda hurts women is through its never ending attempts to take away women’s right to self-defense. Because most men are usually physically stronger and more powerful than most women, a woman is statistically more vulnerable to harm at the hands of a male assailant. Thousands of American women are the victims of rape, domestic violence and sexual assault every year.
A concealed handgun is one means by which a woman can overcome her attacker’s likely physical advantages. It’s a great equalizer; woman doesn’t have to have tremendous physical strength or martial arts training if she knows how to be capable and responsible with a handgun.
Yet the Left has already denied women their right to carry such defensive weapons in crime-infested, “may issue” states such as New York & California where concealed-carry permits are “almost impossible to obtain” without applicants being required to prove their employment in a profession requiring the use of a firearm. Left-leaning politicians are already working to make it as difficult or more so everywhere else in the country. That leaves women with even fewer means to safely defend themselves. Women need access to adequate firearms and training in order to protect themselves from harm.
Acknowledging The Cultural Realities Of Womanhood
Perhaps the most obvious way the Left undermines women is in its complete denial of women’s very unique existence. We all remember Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson telling lawmakers that she couldn’t define what a woman is. The current idea that men pretending to be women are somehow better women than real women in sports, government and employment situations is offensive and demeaning.
Likewise, the faddish left-winged obsession with calling women “pregnant people,” “birthing persons, people who menstruate, people with vaginas, etc.” for the intended purpose of being inclusive of medically modified men is objectifying and reduces women to the status of only their reproductive organs.
A political movement which denies women’s very nature is not in the least pro-woman; while the side which recognizes women as being beautifully and uniquely designed individuals with biological and emotional strengths completely different from men — is.
Physical Security In Women’s Spaces
A man claiming to be a woman housed in the women’s section of Rikers prison in New York City pled guilty in April to raping a female inmate. A former prisons minister in England alleged it was a “situation of male prisoner self-identifying as females in order to rape other female inmates.”
In Woodbridge, Va., police reported a 30-year-old man dressed as a woman “filmed a woman in a bathroom stall at the Potomac Mills Mall.” In 2018, nine homeless women filed a lawsuit against a California women’s shelter charging a man dressed as a woman (identified as D.N.) “during shower times … would repeatedly make lewd and sexually inappropriate comments to some of the plaintiffs. D.N. would allegedly stare and leer at plaintiffs while naked and make sexually harassing comments about their bodies.’”
In the California case, the shelter blamed state Housing and Urban Development Department funding for its inability to address the problem. It’s only Democrats in blue state who want to force women’s shelters, prisons, bathrooms, athletic programs, and other sex-specific spaces to allow access to men; either men who genuinely believe themselves to be transgender or men looking to exploit indiscriminate policies to gain access to vulnerable women.
Democrat policies from abortion to radical transgender ideology have done nothing but demean, endanger, and traumatize women by offering lies that only leave them further and further dependent on the party and its talking points. As those talking points become more and more disconnected from reality, it’s increasingly obvious that one side of the political aisle is hostile to women and their wellbeing; and, the other side is the Conservative Right. ✪
