Anti-Mask Shoppers March Through Target, Urge Others to Liberate Faces: âWeâre Not Gonna Take It!â

âȘ A group of anti-mask demonstrators marched through a Florida Target to Twisted Sisterâs âWeâre Not Gonna Take It,â encouraging others to liberate their faces by removing their masks…
âAlright. Weâre tired of shopping with masks on,â a man says while holding up his phone as âWeâre Not Gonna Take Itâ began to play in the background. âAnd now, weâre taking our masks off because weâre done with it,â he said as others began taking their masks off in the store.âBreathe. Breathe. Youâre Americans. Breathe,â one woman said as she marched through the store.
Cristina Gomez, the Florida woman who made headlines after speaking out against a mask mandate before the Palm Beach County Commission meeting over the summer, was among the protesters. During the meeting, she stated that masks are killing people and told commissioners that âWe the People are waking upâ while warning against the âdevilâs law.â
âTake off that mask. Thatâs the only way itâs going to work if we all unite!â she exclaimed. âItâs all about choice.â Video shows the group marching through the store singing along to the song.
âWeâre not gonna take it anymore,â they sang as they marched through the aisles, encouraging others to join them. One shopper briefly joined the protesters, taking off her mask and dancing as they cheered.
âWeâre not gonna take it anymore,â she exclaimed. Shortly after, another woman took off her mask, earning her a âyou go girl, alright!â from a member of the group. âThis is America,â a man said as the group eventually exited the store. One protester, Nathan Babcock, told the HuffPost they decided to make a statement because they have had âno voice in what is being done to us.â
âThatâs why we have had to organize and protest the lockdown,â he said, explaining that it is âyour right to do what you want, like itâs my right to do what I want.â
âIf you want to wear a mask and think [it] makes you safer ⊠Thatâs absolutely your right, 100 percent. Just donât force me to wear a mask,â he added.
Target is one of several major retailers that require customers to wear a face-covering in stores. âWhile nearly 90% of our stores already require guests to wear masks or face coverings due to local and state regulations, weâll be expanding that requirement to include guests at all stores nationwide as of Aug. 1,â Target announced in July.
âFor those without a mask, team members will provide disposable masks free-of-charge,â the announcement continued. âYoung children and those with underlying medical conditions will not be required to wear a mask.â âȘ
